Actually, I think over the past year or so, Oprah has overwhelmingly leaned to being more of a figure that is for the black community. Her film projects have been centered on black culture. Her school in Africa was obviously for African girls. Now she wants to openly support Barak Obama and has decided to campaign for him publicly. I have never heard her say what issues of his she supports or why she does not support the other candidates, I have only heard her bantering the election of Obama. Lately her show has expressed a lot of African-American issues. I recently saw a show of hers where the panel was all black discussing all black issues.
Now I am all for freedom of speech, but I have to say that by promoting such racially divided issues openly and seemingly campaigning one-sidedly, she is not serving to subdue racial separation, but instead feed by showing her audience the differences between blacks and whites. She must learn to realize that she is now a well-known public figure and has to be cautious about the message she projects. She should be aware that given her celebrity she can be a idol of much bigger issues world wide such as school violence, gang violence (white and hispanics are in gangs as well, not just blacks), drugs (which are becoming worse again in all communities), and diseases.
Due to Oprah's image and her actions of late, I have to say that I have lost much respect for her and do not look to her as an impartial spokesperson anymore.

Oprah is a raciest, she joke about owning white people. As far as a black or a woman President when ever a qualified one comes along we will elect one. Gender or race is not a reason to vote for either...

I think it could happen. Minority populations are growing faster than the white population. In fact, I think I might have read that whites are now less than 50% of the US population or, at least, will be soon. Whites may not have the votes to keep Barack out of office, and some whites, like me, would probably vote for him. Barack is very intelligent, charismatic, and a brilliant speaker; I think he'd do a better job than our current president.

Good question. You are hundred % right. Continue the series.
Oprah's campaigning shall be counter productive. It is unnecessarily driving a wedge in the improving racial relations in the American society. Like in every thing else Obama wants to experiment and puts his foot in his mouth.

Sports is still controlled by whites. The visible figures maybe black but the ($) control is white.

Oprah Winfrey must concentrate on entertainment rather than involving herself in politics. Endorsing a candidate is good but the person that must be endorsed must deserve it.

I don't know much about the man, I don't thnk he has been in public life long. I think Ms Clinton would be a better person because of her experience. But all this discussion about skin colur is a bit sad- how long has USA got to go before it sees past skin colour and sees a human being? I think they'd be best to have CLinton as the presidential candidate and Obama as vice president to gain experience ... however, his skin has nothing to do with his ability.
Wishing you luck, USA.
