BATON ROUGE, La. - Authorities say a Springfield woman was booked on attempted murder counts for allegedly shooting two men whose dog damaged Christmas decorations at her home. Ethel Shannon McKinney, 28, was booked on two counts of attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon, Jason Ard, a spokesman for the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Department, said.

McKinney and her boyfriend got into an argument with the men over the damaged decorations, and McKinney allegedly fired at the men, Ard said.

One man was hit in the upper torso and arm; the other, in an arm. Ard said none of the injuries were life threatening.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

McKinney's boyfriend, Audie Ray Criswell, was booked on two counts of aggravated assault and with disturbing the peace, Ard said.

The sad part is that if the dog had choked to death on the plastic the decorations were made of then the dogs owners would have sued the woman and most likely been awarded a payout.

HA!
Yeah! That peace on earth, goodwill toward men thing is tired. It has been going on for a couple thousand years. Its high time we value our possessions more than other human beings. Sure this gal might be alone, but her hall are decked and that is all that matters after all.
Merry Christmas!

No way. What a nut. Somebody is taking Christmas spirit a little too far. Mentalities like this should be behind bars otherwise none of us are safe.

Putting up decorations is a hard job. I would consider the source. The dog didn't know any better, he was probably playing with them.
I wouldn't shoot anyone.

lol..dunno about Hope & Love, but this is what i, Faith, have to say...

This is what happens when CHRIST is left out of Christmas.
When decorations & Santa & Rudolf are more important than the BirthdayBoy...Jesus is the reason for the season & when we forget this and turn the entire season into a money making (& spending) circus...somethings bound to snap...and it did.
