NES - Ninja Gaiden
SNES - Super Ninja Turtles
N64 - Zelda Ocarina of Time
PS - Final Fantasy 7
Dreamcast - Shenmue I & II
PS2 - Gran Turismo 3 & 4
Gamecube - Mario Sunshine
Xbox - Ninja Gaiden
PC - Counter-Strike Source, Starcraft.
Those were mine favorites for each console. I dont judge them over one another because i feel they are all magnificent games in their own ways and they all deserve props.

Tecmo Super Bowl for Nintendo was the best football game out there and is still one of the best (although the roster is from 1990 i believe).
For PC (if that's considered a platform), the best MMORPG is most likely World of Warcraft (9 million people??? that's pretty insane)...
Starcraft and Warcraft 3 tie for best strategy PC game.
Diablo II takes best RPG/hack 'n' slash for PC.
So many more platforms but those are just off the top of my head.

Well 18 months ago i would have said either resident evil 4 or god of war 2. But now since the ps3, wii and xbox 360 have come out heaps of great games have come out..
So the best video game these days is call of duty 4 on either ps3 or xbox 360...

I will have to go with Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time for the N64 also. This game was revolutionary for its time, and is still timeless and enjoyable.
