Help me with this equation please!?

okay, so I got this review worksheet in math today for a quiz tomorrow, and I still don't get it! I asked for help and got some of it but most I don't get. I need help with this equation please:

-4x-9=5x+99

I know you have to like subtract something from either side...

-4x -9 -5x = 5x + 99 - 5x
group like terms and evaluate the arithmetic algebraically
so,
-4x - 5x ===> -9x
5x - 5x ===> 0
-9x -9 = 99
add 9 to both sides to get rid of the 9 on the left
-9x = 99 + 9
-9x = 108
divide both sides by -9
-9x/-9 = 108/-9
x = -12 <<< here's your answer
