You will probably be awake, because it's not a painful procedure, although you may find it somewhat humbling, to say the least!

Your doctor will ask you to lay on your side, in the fetal position( your knees up by your chin), he will be using something that looks like a portable radio with a six foot hose attached.

Don't be upset, though, he won't need to use but the fist 12 inches or so, because he's more interested in taking pictures of the last part (Colon).

Actually, the hose is really a fiber-optic cable and the radio is really a camera and a light.

He will slick up the cable with jell and slip it into your Annis, while he checks a monitor for the first images of the inside.

Because, he prescribed enough laxative for you to take before you come in, you wont have anything in your intestines, so there wouldn't be a way to get good picture unless the designer of the colonoscope ( I think it's called something else), figured out a way to blow air up your ***.

It makes it possible for him to get better pictures.

It feels like your ready to drop a load and it doesnt stop until he does.

It is uncomfortable, humbling and something, you will not want to brag about, but it is the best way to detect growths on your colon, that could, if ignored, turn Cancerous!

There is a way that they can remove them using this!

Go Figure!

nope -

the worst part is the day before to prep and clean out the bowels - buy something to spray in the bathroom -
like Febreeze

you will be asleep - and will not remember anything-
they have this new white stuff that goes in the IV
and when it hits - you are OUT like a light

count to 10 - you will not make it to 4
your eyes close - and then they open
- you think - OK are you guys gonna - o - I am in a new room-
you're done? 45 minutes has gone by - you are kidding?

seriously - you will be sluggish for a few minutes
and they tell you to allow 5-10 minutes to wake up
before you try to stand and make a fool of yourself
putting your clothes back on

Oh Yeah! - Have someone there to drive you home
because - you will not want to be behind the wheel
(they can go out and shop for 2 hours - or leave a cell #
and the office will call when you are 15-20 mins before discharge)

you will do fine ! all the best
