I need to create a contract. I am a concert buyer/promoter, and I have just recenly begun to buy shows by larger bands. I need to draft up a contract with all the essentials for this. Basically, names, prices, hours, my cut, expenses, etc.

If anyone could help, or lead me in a direction, that would be great. Thank you!

Your cheapest bet would be to pay an attorney specializing in that area. Doing it yourself will only save money initially. But when you get sued or have to sue someone, you will realize how worthwhile it was to have an attorney.

It's not as simple as "yes or no". A minor can enter into a contract at any time. However, with the exception of contracts for "necessities", he can also disavow that contract. BUT... he is still obligated, even if he does disavow the contract, to pay for any benefit he receives. For example.... A minor enters a movie theater and asks to buy two tickets. This is the simplest form of contract there is - "You give me $20 and I'll give you two tickets". She hands over the money, and the clerk hands over the tickets. Now her boyfriend turns up and tells her he already bought the tickets, so she asks the clerk for her money back - i.e. she asks to disavow the contract. The clerk points out the movie theaters "no refunds" policy. By action of law, the policy is unenforceable, and she is entitled to her money back. However... if they 'watched' the movie, then decided that it sucked, and she asked for her money back, she would not be entitled, as she has already benefitted from her side of the contract. Richard

You don't need legalese to have a contract. Just write down a list of EVERYTHING you need to include and then write out the terms. You may want to go to a lawyer to have him/her help you draft a form contract which can be filled in for each act.

Devise a contract to incorporate the price of tickets, budget for the venue, salaries of people involved and mode of payment.
