I am a Christian. I have never asked this question before. You will probably be blocked by me now because you're filling my questions with blantant lies about me personally. Believe what you want, but don't make stuff up about me. I draw the line there.

There's a big difference between CHRISTIAN and fundamentalist CHRISTIAN. Just like there's a big difference between SMART Christian and IDIOT Christian. Before getting your undies in a knot, just remember those bombed abortion clinics, those that protest outside fallen soldier's funerals blaming their deaths on homosexuality even if they weren't homosexuals, and back in time with the Witch trials and the Crusades. Christianity isn't always a peace loving religion, and don't forget Christians worship a man who was murdered on a Cross.

Could you imagine the outcome if muslims were to constantly deny the activities of thier extremists the way the Christian fundamentalist right do?

Not really and they should all go and live together in Never Land and practise their blinkered approach to life together. Well they all believe in God so there is common ground for them. If anything I would back the fundy Muslims to piss of the Fundy Christians and make them slightly nervous. They could have great arguments amongst each other about how the earth and it's people evolved and whose God got it all going. I actually think the Fundy Christians would go over to the Muslim ways (well they like to be seen as brave souls and putting themselves "out there" for the cause don't they. Yes I can see them all wearing the Muslim cover up gear within say a year and then they would have really common ground in that they can pick on the rest of society and tell them how indiscreet they all are and that women should be modest and always obey their husbands even if they are a.......holes. Yeah all of the fundies would just go for that big time.

Christian fundamentalists interpret the Bible as the inerrant, factual, and literal word of God. They reject most modern scientific findings in biology and geology, or at least greatly reinterpret them to "fit" their view of the Bible. Most believe, for example, that the world was created in seven 24 hour days simply because that is what the Genesis account says. Most fundamentalist also believe that the earth (and the universe) is no more than a few (less than ten) thousand years old based on the genealogies in the Bible. Any findings by science that seem to refute this argument are simply discarded and seen to be "obviously wrong" since it disagrees with the Bible. In other words, "if it disagrees with the Bible (the fundamentalist view of the Bible), then it is wrong and probably straight from Satan." This "literal" interpretation of the Bible is very dear to fundamentalist to the extent that most believe that anyone who does not accept this "literal" interpretation are not true Christians. Other branches of Christianity don't actually read The Bible literally. They're willing to understand that there's metaphor and poetry in the Bible, and it's just that the truth expressed in that metaphor and poetry is without error; whereas fundamentalists would tend to want to read even the metaphor and the poetry literally. That's a particular way to interpret the Bible. The majority from other Christian churches accept current scientific theories on evolution and the big bang theory of the beginning of the universe. Many fundamentalists don't want to associate even with other Christians who don't agree with them. are not as separatist. Other branches of the Christian church are perfectly willing to cooperate with people of other religious faiths, with whom they don't agree on all of the particulars, for the greater cause of evangelizing and bringing people to Christ. So evangelicals, for instance, will often talk about making common cause with Roman Catholics or with mainline Protestants.

Fundy Christians indirectly utilize F-16s and cruise missiles to kill infidels whenever they urge their President to do the ''right'' thing by invading Islamic nations. For fundy Muslims, the human suicide bomber is the weapon of choice. That and the fact that I've never heard of fundi Muslims planting bombs in abortion clinics the way fundi Christians do.

Gee, lets see. When was the last time fundamentalist Christians took over whole countries through force? When was the last time people were herded into a sports area to witness women being beheaded? When was the last time a woman was stoned to death for being raped? When was the last time a teacher was sentenced to flogging for naming a stuffed animal Jesus?

Right no difference at all.

By the way, how come no one ever mentions the hundreds of millions of people killed, tortured or imprisoned without trials by the Atheists of the world? Never hear of Stalin and his boys? Pol Pot and his boys? How about Mao and his boys?
It is absolute folly to think you need to be saved from religion. You need to be saved from ambitious tyrants. Regardless of what method they use to justify their crimes.

Merry Christmas!

Yeah. "Fundy" Christians do not hack off the heads of those that don't share their religious beliefs as Muslims have done many times and posted the video documentation on the internet. Don't believe me? Try taking a stroll through Iran or Saudi Arabia without a head scarf on. Or try practicing a religion other than Islam. You'll be imprisoned, whipped, or even executed.

Right on, Jacob!
