I'm Active Duty Air Force and have enough time to attend the classes but wonder if it will be too much of a work load for me. I took 2 online classes History and English at once and pulled off A's for both classes. The 3 classes I'm considering taking are Intro to college writing, Organizational Management, and an Electronics Class/Lab (all 3 are classroom NOT online classes). I'm really just concerned with getting a lot of home work from these classes, will they have a load of homework?

The writing class may have some out of class work and research, but they sound like they are all 3 hour classes?
So, you should be able to hold down a fulltime job and handle 9 college credit hour classes at the same time. It all really depends on you and your determination. You can do anything you want to do. Go for it!!! Good Luck!!

A full load is generally four courses, so three should really be handle-able if you're organized. How many hours/week do you have to dedicate the the air force? Many people work full time or nearly full time and take a full load. With that said, everyone has different limits. If you care very much about A's and know that you can't handle it, stick to two classes--do what is best for you! Good luck!

And whether or not they will have tons of homework simply depends on the professor--see if you can get an early look at each class syllabus before you decide...

The intro the college writing will always require a lot of hours. Getting good at writing requires practice and most courses will reflect this. The Organizational Management is a toss up. Probably will be mostly reading. The electronics lab depends on how advanced it is. As electronics classes get more advanced, the time required increases exponentially.

Don't do it. Online vs In-Class are 2 completely different things. Take only 2 ie Writing and Management or the Electronics Class and Lab

A lot depends on the other time constraints in your life. Are you single? Need to spend lots of time on domestic chores? Like to save the weekends for partying?

I think most classes (except for the lab parts) will let you do homework on the weekends, IF you don't get it done during the week.

One more thing- seems to me, lots of bosses will cut you some slack if they agree with what you're doing. This may or may not help you.

One more thing- why not take just two classes? Don't stretch yourself too thin. You can still finish school, it just might take you one semester more. That's not gonna be a huge thing, ten years from now.

Work hard, study hard, but don't stress. Good on ya!

Usually, you are expected to put in at least double the contact hours in study, then you have travelling on top. So you will have to work it out.

If you are organsed, it is definitely far easier to do correspondence than classroom subjects. The correspondence study hours are also easier to fit in and shift around.

Note, you said courses in subject, when you really mean classes.

The only real way of finding out is to ask people who have studies these subjects before hand. some may be easy, some can be hard.

YMMV, but 3 subjects seems easy to me, but you didn't mention if you have family commitments, etc.

s you can do that in bits and bobs to fit

You can use the units to tell you how much work in terms of hours you should expect 1 unit should be one hour in class and 3 hours of home work (so 4 hours per unit of a regular class) For labs it is backwards, you spend 4 hours in the lab and are expected to work 1 hour of home work. ( lab unit usually will take more time that a regular unit. At least this is how it was at UCI...

I wouldn't take three in a classroom setting, because that's a huge time commitment. With online courses, you can at least do it on your time - whether that be 2pm or 12am. During my undergrad years, I overloaded myself all of the time, taking four or even five courses in a single semester. However, I was not working full-time and most were online, so I could pace myself differently.

That depends on your prof. I think 3 will be okay, depending on your actual schedule. If you can make it to all your classes and exams, you'll probably be fine. I'm a 36 year old mother of 6 and I'm finding three courses just right. I'm pulling off A's in my classes. You should be able to do it.

No one no one no one on here can answer the question about whether they will have loads of homework... each instructor is different and each class is different.

I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for here except validation for prior good grades and encouragement. Talk to a school advisor; talk to people who KNOW you... they are the ones that will have insight about whter or not you will be overwhelmed.
