Without openiing the PC is it possible to understand what kind of RAM is installed in it ? Is it SDRAM or DDR1 or DDR2 ?

zaven, thanks a lot.
But it shows that my system is having 512 MB RAM but its not telling me what type of RAM it is !!

Crucial.com, Powerleap.com, Newegg.com all of these sites have a scan that will tell you what type of ram you have how much ram and the maximum amount that your motherboard will support.

Yes, find the model number of your computer and type it a website like pricewatch.com, in the memory section.

Tell me what computer you got or go to www.crucial.com and search for your computer model. After results, it will show you what kind of ram you got.

You can use a program called CPU-Z to identify your computer's hardware. Here is the link:
