Hey Lil Mama! When I was pregnant with my first son, I was so sure that he would have brown eyes like his father. Mine are blue. Alot of people told me that brown eyes are dominant and our baby would have brown eyes. Wrong they were. He has blue eyes just like me! With my second son..different father with blue eyes just a different shade of blue than mine..our son was born with dark blue eyes and at a glance it looked as if he had dark brown eyes but they were just dark blue unlike our light blue eyes. but they lightened up and now he has sky blue eyes(beautiful)..he's 13 yrs. old now. It's just never an exact science. Like many other's here have told you they could even be brown. That is one thing that we just have to wait and see when they are born. I'd imagine with how fast modern technology is progressing..someday in the near future the doctors will be able to tell us what color their hair, eyes, etc. will be before they are born..wouldn't that be wild? Good luck to you with your daughter and congratulations!

Its auctally a pretty simple chart table but it ends up being a gamble everytime. look at it like this the more darker eyes you have in your family the darker your daughters eyes will be. either a dark green or dark blue eye depends on the random chart. you are getting into tints and shades when you say your eyes are blue/green. shes most likely to hve blue eyes but she could always pull out green or even brown from way back down the line. the color of the eyes also has a lot to do with how her skin color will end up. red headed women end up with green eyes not only because of genes but because they have very fair skin. anyway just check out this site and it should go more indepth.

If he has green eyes then he carries the brown eye and blue eye alleles and if yours are blue then you carry both blue which means your child could (depending on both parents on both sides) have : brown, green or blue. BUT the most likely colors are green and blue. I may be wrong but that is what I recall from biology. Feel free to correct me anyone that reads this.

the color of a baby's eyes can go back generations. there is a likely that they would be a certain color, but nothing definite. and a baby's eye color can change after birth, I don't remember how long after birth the eye gets its true color, but I do know that it is not right away, I think all baby's are born with blue eyes, but don't remember for sure, so you may want to do research i am to tired to do it!
my husband and i have brown eyes, my son has brown eyes and my daughter has hazel eyes!

Blue and green are both recessive genes, I believe, so it is completely up to chance. You never know. Maybe they'll turn out like mine-- green around the pupil and blue on the outside! If there are some brown eyed genes somewhere in your family they could be brown too!

I even have eco-friendly eyes and my husband has gray/blue eyes. My 14 month previous daughter became born with dark blue eyes that would desire to bypass extra in direction of the grey. At 14 months, she has organic eco-friendly eyes in simple terms like mine. whilst she became between 4 and eight months, they appeared very dark, very almost brown yet around 9 months, they became eco-friendly and characteristic stayed that way.

you won't know for sure until the baby is born. your parent's eye color is also a factor. if either of your parents have brown eyes you could be carrying a brown eye gene as well. your baby very well could have blue or green eyes, you'll just have to wait and see.

green, blue, gray, or brown; maybe hazel. It is not a simple thing; otherwise, everyone would have the same color eyes.

Baby could have any color. Sorry, but eyes do not follow Punnet Squares of Mendelian genetics.
