Shawne Merriman is claiming that the Titans play dirty and that his injury was a result of a cheat hit, but If anyone noticed he put a cheap shot late hit on Vince Young previous to his injury. So is his claim legit or did he get what he deserved?

got what he had coming it's a great hit he just wasn't expecting it now a cheap shot would have been where merriman hit priest holmes almost ended his career

if you watched that game it was a really really physical and dirty game on both sides. the "hit" on vince young was accidental for sure because young was pulling out from handing the ball off and merriman was rushing from the other side but VY didn't see and just ran into him. the play that espn showed with the tight end leveling merriman wasn't the play that got him injured. it was the play where lendale white caught the ball and was tackled 8 yards later and you could see near the bottom of the screen merriman falling down with 2 titan lineman falling on top of him well after the play was over. we will probably never know if jeff fisher or one of the coaches actually told them to hit merriman but it seems pretty clear that something was coming for merriman.

Neither shot was cheap. Him and Vince Young ran into each other, if he would have done it on purpose, he would still be laying there. The shot on him was clean too, It was a crack back block but it wasn't from behind. They we're running a sweep to his side and the receiver secured the corner. Im sure Jeff Fischer did tell his players to go after him, but not to do it with a cheap shot. Fischer is a class act, and he wanted someone to hit the guy disrupting his offense.
Is he still claiming he was leaning when MoJo Drew de-cleated him a few weeks before. Shut up and play football - if you want to cry and whine - join the NBA.

The "cheap shot" he put on Vince Young was accidental; Vince didn't know where he was going and turned his head to watch the play and accidentally ran into Merriman.
Whether the Titans put a cheap shot on Shawne or not is up for debate. Still, a cheap shot on ANYONE is unacceptable, even if they "had it coming."

Merriman is a baby. He is a great linebacker but I don't know what stands out more, his ability on the field or his whining off the field. Maerriman should just go juice up some more.

It is football.....Merriman's hit on Young was not intentional...Young ran into him...I don't think Merriman's injury was ordered, it just happened.....injuries like that happen in the game of football.

shawne needs to wake up and smell the nfl. cheap hits-any hits-you have to let them get to you first. anyone who complains should consider a safer (and less lucrative) career (like that'll happen)

never saw it and don't care about Merriman.
if he misses any time....well he should still have some roids or HGH around the house to help him recover faster.
