Conservatives think of themselves as the Party of Personal Responsibility, and they want gratitude. Doesn't matter if they screw it up, they don't want to be criticized. (Except, you know, after they are dead they are going to be judged by an imaginary being who lives in the sky.) Now how responsible is it to have a string attached to everything you do supposedly "for others".

And they cling to the past because they need the feeling of security and stability it gives them.

We don't sound mean, We just don't use the word FREE in our answers the way you want it used, and you think that is being mean. How about other words we use like, personal responsibility, work, traditional family, believing in God, saying the Lords Prayer in School, Honor, serving in the military, not killing babies, respect, and having morals, does that sound mean to you also? If that offends you,I'm sorry, but I'm a Republican and that's what I believe in.

Because deep down republican know the are wrong on issues and wrong for America

But when you have lost the debate , all you can do is name call and personal attacks

Remember the Jesus guy they claim to love but never follow his teaches..said once, they know not what they do. you can't give a better description of a Republican

they are no more or less "stuck in their ways" than Democrats who defend their ideas. if it "sounds mean," maybe you should toughen up a little bit. getting offended will get you nowhere, which is why we have to put up with all of this political correctness nonsense.

How can you ask such a hateful question? Mean we're not mean, we just carry a baseball bat for fun--its not our fault if your head bops into it. Stuck in our ways-perish the thought. I'm opened minded as long as you agree with me. No, stop all this hate mongering.

i use reasoning when speaking to people, and usually expect them to be logical. however, when it backfires (repeatedly), and people refuse to use common sense, human nature is to get frustrated. when frustrated, people often forego the pleasantries and get straight to the point. so since liberals are too dense to understand logic, they only pick up on the questioning of their intelligence. then they whine that it's mean-spirited after they've already smeared, defamed, and badmouthed Republicans, showing their hatred of the President and willingness to destroy him at the cost of our country.

I defend liberals and Democrats and I'm sure there are a lot of people on here who would say I'm mean as hell.

And they're right - always go straight at the bastards.

Because a good lot of them are mean.

And because so many of their most cherished "positions" aren't based in reality. They have to resort to attacking the person who points this out. It's really that simple.

Because basically all republicans really care about is themselves and what is in THEIR best interests!
Take the issue of universal health care for example;
They don't want to even consider it because it will raise their taxes..............and they can afford their own health care.........yet these are the same people creating new $8 dollar an hour jobs...........then only work their employees 32 hours a week(part-time) so they won't have to offer them health benefits!

Probably because most of the Democrats on YAnswers are about 15 years old and adult discussion sounds a little intimidating to them.
