I've answered many questions but only asked one. And yes, I gave the person with the best answer five stars. He helped me out a lot and he deserved it for the answers he provided. And when I ask another question, if someone provides me with a really good answer, I'll probably give them at least a 4 or 5. If none of the answers are any good, then no one gets a star or a best answer vote. Lots of people out there ask for help, use which ever answer they like and never rate the answers to the questions they have asked which is not fair, but that's life, I guess.

No, actually only rarely do I award five stars to my best answers (maybe 10-25 percent of them). First, I don't ask a lot of questions on here -- only 41 in nine months (about once a week on average) & expect some thought or effort in an answer rather than a quick one or two word quip. If they give me good advice, make me laugh, make me think, show a particular strength in their knowledge of a subject, indicate resources used, or other possible sources for more information -- then I'll give them five stars for all their effort.

I very rarely give 5 stars. I have to agree totally with the answer to do that. I mainly give 4 stars.

no but i usually give either four or five...if i don't like any of the answers then I would rather just delete the question or put it up for vote than pick a really bad/rude answer and give it five stars...either way they are getting their ten points so does it really matter???

it depended on how good of an answer it was. compared to other questions it seemed like a reasonable choice. if the answer helped you give it a 4 or 5. not so much but better than others? 3. basically, how good was the answer for you? simple as that.

No, because there often is not a really good answer. The lowest I have given is 3 stars.

If the answer is fantastic I give them a five.

I've only asked 2 questions, but I've 5 starred both of them.

It depends on the answer, but most of the time yes!
