On printer PRINT the config pages from menu, this will list the IP address.
NOT what you thought it wasm probably set to DHCP so has taken a new address.
Reset IP address via menu (or I think you can log in via a PC, enter the IP address it IS on into internet explorer and use it's embedded web server to do this) to what you thought it should be and turn OFF DHCP

If printer lists IP as 0.0.0.0 check DHCP is OFF and also check cables. Should have a connection light on rear of printer in the jet direct box.

Still stuck. Drop me a note with some more detail.

I am sure that HP has more detailed troubleshooting tips for you than I can give. Here are a few things to check

- The router on your network (Linksys, Netgear,...) gives out IP addresses to the attached devices (including wireless devices). Once the HP secures an IP addtess, other compuets on your network should see it. I assume that all your computers get IP addresses from the router or a server with DHCP. If not, you have trouble

- The HP has a setting for "network" and this lets you print out the network settings. Check that the gateway, dns, router that the HP detected correspond to the network settings on your PC's. Try to ping the HP IP address from another PC. If this does not work, the gateway or DNS is not correctly defined.

- You are supposed to install the HP application software (status monitor, etc) on at least one PC. AFter installing the software, the PC will try to find the printer. Make sure you specify Wired Ethernet for the printer connection, not USB

- the printer has also a web server. You should be able to browse to it using the IP address of the HP, like so http://192.168.1.10 (if that is the ip address of the printer)

Good luck! With a big fancy printer like that, you should be entitled to call HP for support.
