Menard's, Home De Dot places like that.

You can do it the easy way and purchase a fire pit steel ring. Dig a hole deep enough for the steel ring and you're basically ready to go.

Works for use. We also use our fire pit for outdoor cooking.

You'll need grates to put across the fire pit. We had ours made to size. Check out the stores to see if they have made to size grates. You can also use a tripod with a grate that sits higher up away from the flame.

Thisthe only way we do our outdoor cooking. I've given up on grills. Of course we also use just to sit and relax and watch the fire. Don't let the flames get to high if you're around trees.

I saw a really cool one on the HGTV network.
They took cement blocks, the decorative wall type that have the little lip the hangs over just a bit... made a round circle about 6 ft in diameter, built it up to 2 1/2 feet tall, put 6 inches of gravel in the bottom and wallah! a fire pit!!!
By not cementing it together, it was portable if you ever have to move, and you can replace any blocks that degrade quite easily.
