cause like all my friends when they started they got presents from their parents or went on a huge shopping spree
or another one got shoes for starting i dont get it

I can see how some people would see that as a special ocasion. Getting your period for the first time is a sign that you are becoming a woman, and are now able to bear children. When I got mine, my mom didn't really "celebrate" with me, as in take me out, or buy me a gift, but she did make sure that I felt it was a good thing, and a sign that I was growing up, and told me that if I had any questions, or wanted to talk, I could come to her. My mom and I have always been and continue to be very open when it comes to talking about things like that.

Well as weird as it sounds I have heard of this before. I know I did not get anything but a box of tampons, no I take that back when I was on my way home from school that day my mom came to get me and we went for ice cream but that sure is hell ain't as cool as a shopping spree, I wish I was your friend! LOL

I have never heard of such a thing. When I started my period, my mom slapped a huge pad in my hand and told me "Put this on." and went back to bed. All I got was the chance to stay home from school that day. :)
If you ask me, kids are spoiled nowadays.

well i got some earrings and a purse also pads i mean its the way that they congradulate your womanhood my friend got a buch of stuff and got to stay home a whole week to get pampered

My mom taught me how to play poker. we're not a big gambling family or anything like that, but it's what she did for my sisters, it was like a mini-tradition. I didn't get to go shopping or anything like that.

Your friends' family are celebrating a "milestone" in their daughter's life. Kind of weird but they are real.
When l got mine all they said was "yeah, you're getting old". How "heart-felt" can you get.

Technically, you will get pregnant earlier you have your first era. Ovulation constantly starts earlier the bleeding. So case in point, earlier you ever have your first era, you will get pregnant whilst ovulation hits. approximately 2 weeks earlier your first bleeding.
