Yes. Getting even is not getting revenge. By becoming even you are now level. Going against the odds or obstacles, you become level and are now traveling on even ground. When you add two odds, you get an even number every time. Going against all odds will help you achieve all your goals.

Going against all odds.....trying to do something that is probably impossible as all the chances of suceeding are against you.
Trying to get even......payback time.
Just because the odds are not good, don't mean you can't try to get even.
In trying to get even you just want closure no matter what the odds, and those can be overcome if you try your hardest.

Getting even is the imaginary goal of vengeance. Going against all odds is moving forward to accomplish a goal.

I'm trying to get stable/fair (even) mentally if I go against all odds or incertitude. There is no choice here. However, trying to make two things equal if I go against all odds, my chance to win would be one to two.

A idea is pure
A ideal is gray
A idealist is greedy.
