My garbage disposal started leaking and there was a huge puddle under the sink. The back wall is soaked and actually moves if you push it. I'm not sure what to do! We've got a bucket under the garbage disposal and will have maintenance come and fix it, but until then the area underneath the sink is soaking wet and I'm not sure how to dry it out properly. I don't want it to mold, etc!

If it is sheetrock, remove it. Get a large fan and turn it on, blowing air into that area to dry it out as fast as possible.

You need to let it dry naturally or with a fan before you put anything on it. Your best bet is after you get the leak fixed, cut the drywall out to make sure there is no damage in the frame and the inside of th back wall. Bleach is the best thing for mildew, if there is.

I am not sure if you can get your hands on any saw dust, but saw dust if layed over it will soak up all the moisture. Water damage is a serouse problem and depending on the level can lead to further problems down the road

Check your fittings, one or two may be loose, that should solve the problem until it can be repaired. Then leave the bottom doors open to dry it out, maybe a fan. If you leave it go you could be held responsible for misuse. Let the landlord know for sure.
