This is just a persons personality. Many people have different types of personality. His personality is fueled by his need to always be in control. I'm sure that he is what most psychologists would call a Type A personality, where he is very competitive, aggressive, and tends to get angry a lot. Am i right? From my point of view, you are not that type of person, and in a situation like this it doesn't seem that you will be very happy if you stay in this relationship. My advice to you is to get him some help, and protection for yourself because there shouldn't be such thing as "he won't let me leave". You are just not the right type of person for him. In order for him to be truly happy as well, he needs a person to match his personality. Basically, he needs a real ***** who can put him in his place.

There's a difference between possessive and love.
If your man wants to control your every move, everything you do, who you hang out with and stuff like that then he is possessive and obsessive.
If he doesn't want to lose you and wants to be with you forever then that's just him being loving to you and towards you in hopes of staying with you.

Possessiveness and jealousy stem from insecurity and mistrust, not from love.

It doesn't matter to some ppl whether they like you or not, they just like control, because they are obsessive, or insecure, and makes them feel powerful to control someone else.
