don't have a mum or mum-in-law. both long passed on. but i will be visiting a senior citizen over the holidays and taking her a gift. she has a lovely yard and feeds the birds year round so i shall take a good assortment of bird seeds for them and a bottle of 'tonic' for her.

I normally buy my mother coffee - good stuff, she loves it - but this year she actually asked for flannel sheets. She cant find the quality or selection where she lives so thats what she and my father want, and that is what they are getting....

We usually get my mom a gift certificate to Target, and she usually loves that. This year, we're paying for the plane ticket for my parents to come to see us, and then to go see their my sister with their grandkids and great-grandkids. They're really thrilled with this present.
