There is this website called filmz.tv and I just downloaded a movie from there and found out it is a government run website that tracks your IP address and fines people 250,000 per movie. What do I do now? Is there anything I can do on my computer to erase the history of it or anything like that? I already deleted the movie.

It's a hoax. They can't make it available for you to download and then charge you with a crime for downloading it. That would be entrapment.

By downloading any video without having paid for it, you are doing an illegal action.

The videos on that web site appear to be provided by members of DivX (a video codec company) Stage6 (their video sharing site). Most of the videos there are illegally shared.

However, the government mostly targets people who share media on a large scale. As long as you don't have Limewire or uTorrent running constantly and sending files to other people, you should be OK.

you can delete the site from your browser history , and delete the cookie if it left one . Its a bit unlikely they would bother you for a single download. You could make a case for entrapment if you were prosecuted .

Still, there is evidence of what you did in your computer. It's all in a data base chip.
