I put in Disk 1 and at 66% it asks to, "insert Disk 2". I do this, but nothing happens, or seems to happen. The 66% doesn't change. I have tried clearing my temp file, clearing out some of the Task Manager...etc. But nothing. I saw someone suggest a manual install, so I copied Disk 1 and 2 into my C:Drive, however when I "double-click" autorun.exe - I'm still asked to insert the Disc 1..and the problem is the same. Any suggestions??? I don't have a Dell. I've seen something about that as well..

Thanks!!! PLease help.

yes... it's legal. I bought it at Best Buy and actually have already exchanged it once for a new game because I thought it might be the disk?

don't forget to turn off all other applications that are running. including virus scan, firewall, and anything else. and disconnect from the Internet while you do this. i was having the same problem until i stopped all the other stuff that my computer was doing. i also got rid of stuff that i didn't need and i defraged my computer a few times before i put the Sims in.

This is a common problem with installing the game. Some of the issues have included bad disks or the computer not having enough memory to play the game. Check to make sure your computer's specs meet the minimum (or better) specs that are listed on the game's box.

If you've already returned the game to the store and have gotten a different copy, I would guess it would be your computer can't handle the game itself. Time to upgrade. And the type of computer you have does't matter.

Also, check the Sims2.com website, under the BBS. This issue has been addressed numerous times. You'll probably find a better answer there.

is it a legal copy? It sounds like a bad #2 disk...if its a store bought copy, go to the website, write an email, and get your money back/replacement..if its an aquired copy, get it from where you got it again
