I think it seems unfair because of her popularity.

I just think that people should learn more about all the candidates before voting and I think people should not vote for a candidate just because they are being supported by their favorite celebrity.

Good fit - He's black, she's black. It should be interesting, but I don't think the US is even close to being ready(if ever) to elect a black president - the lack of credibility with the 80% of the white population(and non-black) that exists comes from the point of the presidency's great powers.

NO majority of 80% of the people could allow a black person to have such power. It's that simple. His stature, ability, education, whatever, has no bearing on the subject. He's black - he cannot win such utter power in the USA - period !!

I'm Canadian, so although I feel much the same, it's from a more objective view - I'm not neutral at all though. A black US president could be a serious problem throughout the world.

Democrat Obama may be, but when the 'chips are down', the Democrats will go to Hillary in droves, although Oprah WILL get Obama more delegates.

Sooner or later the non-blacks, who are vastly 'whites' will shut down any possibility of him winning. They have to. If they don't(which is most certainly unlikely), the 'race card' will become so prevalent in the USA that it will become the '8000-pound elephant in the room'.

IF Obama were to get the nomination, I'm very sure that the good ol' US of A would elect another republican as president. As bad as that would be, it would be as a result of all the things I've said above.

I think it is fine for Oprah to choose to help any candidate she wants to. Just like its fine for you to help any candidate you want to. Celebrities are people too. Oprah is publicly endorsing Obama because she likes him and believes in his brand of politics. For those (black or white) who say she is only helping him because he is black is simply an ignorant and racist statement. Oprah did not endorse Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton or Bill Clinton when they ran for president.

When Chuck Norris endorsed Mike Huckabee, did we hear ,"oh Chuck's just endorsing Mike cause he is white".

I think more celebrities would publicly endorse Obama, but have loyalties to Bill Clinton. Don't you think it is interesting that Al Gore has not publicly endorsed a democratic candidate yet. With his relations to the Clintons, you would think he'd be one of the first popular celebrities to endorse Hillary. Kind of makes you wonder why?

Hey, you have to do whatever you can to get it done. I have a concern with Oprah. She is tooo big. Not litterally..however...anyway, the Untied States of Lemmings hang on every word she speaks. She says this book is good, BAM. It is a best seller within a week. Simple folk us Americans. But with Obama, if she is throwing her weight behind him, "sorry" then she better be sure he is the guy we need. A one term senator may not make a good president. But then again we had an idiot governor from Texas.. so...
Well, I do not like how she makes it racial. (OK, now some will say I am a racist just for saying that right?) In her speech this weekend, she took out her "street" voice, which she sure pulls out when she needs it. But if she has say, Martha Stewart on her show, she is very uppidy and "proper" sounding, but bring on anyone with color, and "Hey girlfriend!" I just find her very fake, and too many follow every breath.

Celebrities endorse candidates all the time. Why are so many making such a big deal of this one?
And why is it unfair? She is a US citizen and has the same 1st amendment rights as anyone else to publically support a candidate.
Would you consider it unfair if she were backing your candidate?

Oprah is very weighty in politics, she carries a lot of weight......literally. She has a huge influence and backside. Oprah casts a large shadow wherever she goes, she is like an eclipse. She is larger than life and the stage she will be on. She was too huge for the original venue so it was moved to a very large football stadium to accomodate her. A big event like this deserves an even bigger celebrity and Oprah is it and then some.

It is troubling that our celebrity adulation has infected high office and the campaign trail! It is not a flattering commentary on what we have become. In one word it is disgusting!

It is not dissimilar to the global warming crowd (mob) who reason that if their heroes globe trot crying about falling skies, then it must be true. We are witnessing the fall of the greatest empire the world has ever known!

Oprah sells out! Hey, if it slows down the coronation of Hilary, I'm all for it.

There are no legitimate reasons why he should be President, no matter how many celebrity condescending posers he finds to speak for him. Obama is soooo over.
