Accrediting associations do not rank universities. MSCHE is a regional accrediting association which accredits the institution as a whole. AACSB is one of two professional accreditation associations which evaluate and accredit only the business programs. The other professional accreditation association for business is the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), but this is more for technical business programs. Visit the AACSB website (http://www.aacsb.org) for a list of their accredited universities.

In the US:

There is institutional accreditation (the whole college) and there is departmental accreditation (just a department or major).

As for institutional accreditation, regionally accredited is the highest. Other organizations (national accreditors) such as ACICS or DETC are out there and have a place but it's not as high as regional accreditation.

Not all colleges or departments seek departmental accreditation. Many fields have an agency that accredits programs - they are essentially equal because they deal with only one field of study.

For example: NASM is not higher or lower than AACSB because NASM deals with music schools and AACSB with business schools. ABA deals with law while ALA deals with library science.
