It's a completely normal age for babies to start or not be crawling yet. Some babies never crawl at all, just all of sudden start taking steps. Try putting him on his knees with his arms up and see that he does. Eventually he might start rocking and just take off

All babies develop at different times. Some babies don't even crawl, they just skip that and start walking. I wouldn't worry too much, both my kids started crawling at 7 months, and walking at 10 months. Plus sometimes I wish they never learned how to get around because now at 4 and 2 they get into everything.

My daughter didn't start crawling until about 10 months. I was worried too. She was always taller, around the 100th percentile, therefore weighed more around 95 percentile. I did a lot of reading.
Basically, babies develop AT THEIR OWN PACE. I think they said Einstein didn't crawl until 14 to 16 months old. It may have been walk but, regardless, your son will take off one of these days when you least expect it.
Also, my wife only rolled when she was a baby!! Never even crawled. Don't worry. Enjoy it because when he starts crawling you will NEVER sit!!!!!

olling over, sitting without support, cruising (walking along furniture), and walking independently are important developmental milestones. Crawling isn't.
Crawling isn't even mentioned in my favorite pediatric development textbook!
This seems strange since, of any of these behaviors, crawling is most associated with babies. The truth is many babies never crawl! They do need to find some way to move across the floor. Each will do so at unpredictable times and in distinctive ways. Your grandson may be a scooter, one who likes to stay upright and scoot across the floor on his bottom. Many babies prefer creeping, or wriggling forward on the stomach. Many children will crab-crawl, moving backwards. And, of course, many children will get up on all fours and crawl forward in the traditional way. Each child is unique.
Some adults are concerned that children who don't crawl in the traditional way will be less coordinated. This is a myth. As long as the baby begins to move across the floor using each arm and each leg, there is no cause for concern.
I'm reluctant to mention time frames, but somewhere between six and ten months I expect babies to discover some way to move horizontally across the floor to get desired objects. Obstacles to this include the child's not spending enough time on the floor, using an infant walker (which often eliminates the desire to learn crawling behaviors -- infant walkers are bad for proper development), having toys brought to the infant, pushing the child to learn to crawl, and physical problems such as muscle weakness. If babies actually crawl, it usually begins at around 8 to 10 months.

EVERYTHING IS OK!!!! All babies develop differently. he is in the crawling position it will be anyday... have fun with him by placing his toys a little out of reach. He man never actually crawl, he may just want to get up and go in a couple months but honestly it's totally normal.

all my babies were different. Some scooted, some rolled around ,some never crawled and found their own way of getting around and at all different ages. my youngest will be 7 mo this Friday and he rolls over but doesnt sit up on his own yet but he says 4 words so he is advanced in speech and according to my doc right on track physically. Dont compare your kid to anyone elses not even siblings. They all walk, talk and do their thing in their own time.
