You can word it in any which way, but surely its true the more people accire the more they forget about there fellow human beings. Only when they have finally acheived a certain level they suddenly remmember about things that really matter. Then they try to appease themselves with giving back. (There is normally a trail of distructing behind them) Still we admire them.

The most dangerous thing in the world is not the person with little knowlege. The most dangerous thing in the world is the one with knowlege that does not want to share it

Some wealthy people, yes, but certainly not all. Many celebrities donate all sorts of time and money to causes that are dear to them. Many do so anonymously, as they do not want to be in the limelight about something so private and personal.

Many are activists for all sorts of causes, and use their celebrity (and money) toward their causes. Many give much money to the charities and religious organizations of their choice. There are few who don't give back to their communities in one way or another.

What I've stated, I know for a fact, to be true. Therefore, I cannot say that most wealthy people lack empathy...again, some might, but many more are more than empathetic and generous.

I think they lack something, but it is not empathy. I believe what they lack is a conscience. Like people who are head of businesses, their greed for money means everything, cutting down trees as an e.g. All they see is themselves.
People who are comfortable sacking a 100 people at a whim, in the name of profits. This is also one thing needed to be a politician. Most men do not have empathy as their emotions have been suppressed at childhood, don't cry, don't be a baby, don't be a sissy and so on. I wish you well. Terry.

You are saying that the wealthy lack the ability to share in anothers emotions or feelings? This is the teaching of what liberal psychology professor at what college at what grade level? I'm surprised that a "learned"student would come to such a wrong conclusion. Start with the fact that I am not wealthy. Gates, Buffett, Bartelmo, G.H.W. Bush, Kissinger,Carter, Hope all lacked empathy? Our education system is shot to pieces!!

I don't think that's true, I think about 80% of all people "lack empathy", and the remaining 20%, are probably equally rich and poor people.

No I hadn't noticed. You shouldn't discriminate like that. Each person is an individual.

can`t say i have noticed, like how would you spend time quantifying the amount of people that are rich and have empathy as opposed to the amount of people who are poor and have empathy???? where are your examples?

I think you should re-word that.
People who are the wealthiest lack empathy.
