If Oprah was Racist, do you think she would have help Dr. Phil get his show, or help Martha Stewart get her start, look at her show, how many blacks do you actually see on Oprah, give me a break. I really think it is so judgemental of people to start hating Oprah because she's supporting a black person at something, people would even cry if she supported Hillary Clinton, just because shes a women. But if she was supporting one of the others running nobody would even care

Wow, I'm not even going to read that. That's a lotta text.
Oprah annoys me to no end, but I doubt she's racist. Like my new secret friend Sunburnne pointed out, if Oprah were white and endorsed a white candidate, would that make her racist? Of course not. So why is everyone getting on her back about supporting Obama?

I wouldn't label Oprah as racist. To me, that word includes a negative sense. Standing on his two feet, George Wallace fit my definition of "racist" (though he mellowed a lot) because he was overtly anti-*****. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish the KKK's pro-Aryan rhetoric from their anti-everyone else nonsense. In my idiolect, you have to be *against* a race to qualify as "racist."
Supporting a candidate who has similar racial background does not qualify you for the "racist" label. See the remark about Chuck Norris.
Is Oprah a bit too stuck on herself? I think a large ego is tough to avoid when you become a gazillionaire. The Donald is also a bit like her. Mere obnoxiousness doesn't qualify you as racist, though an overwhelming sense of superiority could put you in a class where you could have disdain for the rest of the world, not just one race or another. Conceit can take you to a lonely, lofty location.

I don't think shes a racist, i think shes just helping out someone she relates to, and someone who has the best interest for the black community...it wont be any wrong for an asian person to support an asian presidential representative or for an indian to support an indian man. People will vote for someone who best represents them and will be a good president. i dont think theres anything wrong with that.
Whith that being said, shes IS a media hog AND a horrible talk show host....everyone can she she loves attention and feels she has to remind others of how good she is.

Oprah didnt say support Obama, she said she supported him and that people should investigate their candidates and decided for themselves, listen to her speech. She said she knew the difference in giving out gifts and researching someone who was running for president.

I think with her getting a lot of white people their starts in the limelight, she is definitely not racist.I don't understand why everyone is so quick to bring up racial issues.really there is a lot of other things to worry about besides Oprah.

I don't think Oprah is racist. She picked Obama because he was the only candidate she wanted to support publicly & with money. Her ego may get to big at times, yet we all have our moments except most of us don't have serious bucks to indulge our egos.

Well, now that you have gotten all of that off of your chest, I hope that you feel better. There there, the sun'll come out tomorrow and you won't have to waste much more time on hating on Oprah. :)

I don't know that I would call her a racist, but I would call her a hypocrite. She is always taking about equal rights and discrimination. She has had the Clinton's on her show many times and has publicly stated she is friends with both of them and yet the second and African American runs for President...who does she back???? The African American...not the person she had supported in the past. That is not racist...it is hypocritical....
