I majored in Vocal Music Education my first two years, then switched to Sociology, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made because now I'm doing something that I love (minus the stage fright). These two years have not been a waste, because you have learned what is important to you, what you are interested in, and have probably learned how to be a good student- how to balance studying and fun, how to take tests, etc. So your next few years you will be more knowledgeable about how to do well.

Can you find a major that you like that would have some of the same requirements? Some of the courses you have taken could also be used as electives.

A lot of people do not finish in 4 years, but it is still a degree after 5 or 6 years.

it's unlikely that your two years will be a WASTE since lots of the first two years are basically general education classes that can be applied to nearly every major. Many colleges don't even require you to declare your major until the second year. I REALLY advise you not to drop out. It's the biggest mistake a person can make if you ask me.

don't drop out. If you are undecide about your major, you should go talk to your counselor and see what they can help. Or take the General Education classes first, while thinking about your major. If these options is not working then take a semester or two off then come back to school.

It is easier to continue school now because you still have the thing to keep on working it. If you take off from school too long, then you would loose your interest in school and it hard to get back on track later on. That is my case.

Never ever ever ever give up! I was in the same situation but after talking to a few people i was encouraged to continue my education. Go for something you are good at and interests you. My mum always told me "Shoot for the moon even if you miss you will land amongst the stars." So just try your best, it will pay off later. And if you are changing majors, im sure that some classes will be the same. I recommend you talk to a counselor to get advice.

Change to a major that still uses the majority of classes you already took. Most of them are general education requirements anyway, right? Those classes still count for something even if you don't think they "directly" relate to your major. Most pyschology, communications, English, math, science, etc etc courses are required anyway of any major, regardless of what it is.

Best wishes! Don't drop out. Then you really ARE wasting your money.

If you're thinking of changing majors, then perhaps the classes you have already taken can serve as electives. Check the requirements for your new major and see where you can fit the credits you already have.
If they at least count towards your requirements, then nothing has been wasted.

Either way, it's better then majoring in something you don't enjoy, and therefore won't use.

First thing is that every thing you choose in life should be for you..! and not the other way around, so if your major do not makes you happy, change the subjects...It s better late than never....
its better to start over after two years than stuck up with unwanted undesirable after another year......

First, what do want to switch to?And aren't the first 2 years basic classes that could go toward another major? I suggest figuring out what you want to do, then see how it could work. Does that help any?

Yeah I found my college degrees a complete waste of money and time. You know other than that awesome job and income I have now.
You can always practice the phrase "do you want fries with that"?
