Since all the browsers have a built-in search engine, I don't need a homepage that's a search page.

So any good suggestions?

Live.com.

Add custom modules, such as news, RSS feeds, and other cool stuff here : http://gallery.live.com/default.aspx?pl=4

The UI is very clean and easy to use. You can ignore the search box (though Live Search is really good). Just add several pages, and many modules as you want. It's really neat.

I use the link below. They'll custom make a page for you (within reason) to better suit your needs.

usually you should set your homepage to a site you use alot or have a personal preference for ie: news, personal interests, etc.

I have mine set for http://www.spookypedia.com
