Here are the names Hubby and I are considering for Baby #2. If you couldn't tell already, we want to go with an Irish name. If you have any other suggestions for good Irish names (besides Patrick and Sean, that is), please let us know. Thanks!
Boys:
1. Corrigan
2. Eamon (pronounced Ay-mon)
3. Declan
Girls:
1. Ashling
2. Ailish (Ay - lish)
3. Fiona

Here are a few of the names that we can't use, as they've already been used by other family members: Caitlin, Kathleen, Aine, John, Sean, Kevin, Braeden, and Brogan/Brody.
Oh, we also want to avoid the whole Aiden/Brayden fad.

Lovely. ;)
Boys:
1. Corrigan - one I can certainly appreciate if it's a family name, but otherwise I'll admit ... it immediately reminds me of the water man. ;)
2. Eamon (pronounced Ay-mon) - I adore it. And if he finds it too uncommon (assuming you're in the states), he can always use familiar Ed, Eddie or Ned (love Ned!) as a nickname.
3. Declan - Great name, and actually quite familiar (though not overused) even in the US.
Girls:
1. Ashling - If you're using the half-Anglicization "Ashling" simply to avoid all the "never heard of it, don't know how to say it" sort of comments, I do quite like the name itself. But I'd definitely stick with Aisling, personally. Not only do I find it more refreshingly traditional and visually appealing, but it also avoids coming across as nothing more than another trendy variation of overused, dated Ashley, if you know what I mean.
2. Ailish (Ay - lish) - as above, love the actual name, but much prefer the Ailis spelling.
3. Fiona - love it. And I know the most adorable little Fiona, so the association doesn't hurt. ;)
Some of my other favorites ...
Angus
Cillian
Conall
Cormac
Dara/Darragh
Desmond
Donovan
Eoin (said like Owen, however, so it might *seem* too popular)
Ewan
Findlay/Finley
Finnian
Lachlan
Lorcan
Malachy (mal-a-kee, not a typo for Malachi LOL)
Niall
Oran
Riordan
Ronan
Seamus
Shea
Tadhg
Dara/Darragh - also used for girls, though more common for boys in Ireland ;)
Devanie
Devnet
Eilis
Finola
Fiora - rare variant of Fiona, not a typo ;)
Grainne
Maeve
Mairenn
Moira
Niamh
Orla
Roisin
Siobhan
Talulla
A few (Ewan, Lachlan, etc.) are common Irish/Scottish crossovers, much like Fiona. And sorry for the lengthy list. Obviously my own style runs along the same lines as yours. LOL
You'll likely find this site useful, if you're not familiar with it already. It really is excellent. ;) http://www.babynamesofireland.com/
Hope that helps!

Racking my brains for names...
Boys: Brandan (an Irish saint?); Brendan; Ciaran (Keer-an, means little dark-haired one); Eammon reminds me too much of the carribean greeting Hey mon); Declan is nice; Finn; Fintan; Lorcan; Malachy; Ronan; Seamus (Shay-mus - was the name of our dog and we forever had to spell/explain it!). Sorry but I don't like Corrigan for a first name.
Girls: Aisling is beautiful and so is Aislinn; Ailish is equally lovely; Eilish is also a nice variant of Ailish; Fiona is a bit dated and is now a character in Shrek; Grainne (Grawn-ya); Niamh (Nee-uv or Neeve); Orla; Sorcha; Siobhan (Shiv-awn); Sinead (Shin-ade).
There is an Irish baby name site that is excellent and features a voice pronouncing the names (so there can be no confusion on pronounciation!) - I last looked it up a couple of years ago before my first child was born, sorry I forget the address but if you type in the topic in your search engine hopefully you can find it.
Great you are choosing Irish names. All the best!

Corrigan was my grade 11 math teacher's last name.
Eamon's nice...don't like Declan, sorry.
Ashling...it's pretty, but she'd spend her entire life explaining that it's Ashling, not Ashley (it'd happen a lot).
Ailish is my favourite of the three, but unfortunately, unless you live in the UK, it'd get mispronounced a lot. But still very pretty.
Fiona...nice but not as pretty as Ailish...JMO. :)

Don't particularly care for the boys names, but Corrigan is the cutest. For girls, definately Fiona!
