Might be based on a true story, and the movie would be at least 20 years old, probably more. The plot, as I remember it, is that a group of siblings are looking for homes after their parents die from an illness - possibly diptheria. The older siblings take the younger children from neighbor to neighbor looking for someone to take them in. It was set mostly in the winter, 1800s or early 1900s. Does this sound familiar?

The plot listed above sounds like the movie I'm asking about. Seven alone is not the name of the movie. The movie was played a few months ago on direct tv but I cannot remember the name of it.
