Because my body's nobody's body but mine. It's all I have that is truly mine in this life and once I die, I'll have no use for it. So I treat my body like a temple with respect and appreciation while I'm still able to.

I believe that when you say respect for the body you mean controlling your animal instincts and allowing your human aspects such as intellect and will to take over them. This is right and natural. It is God-given for us to use and practice. As Jesus said, Be perfect as my Father God is perfect... This means giving our body the respect it deserves from us since we are only its caretaker and we will be with God body and soul in heaven at the end of time. And we can only go there if we are perfect.

Because once, when I was in big trouble, my body got me out of it. And because It likes lots of fig newtons. And because I look like Wayne Newton. And because, even if you tickle my upper lip with a ostrich feather, it does not affect my appetite, nor my ability to gargle mouthwash.

Hi,
I believe my body was given to me by my parents who brought me into this world and fed me and took me to the doctor when I was ill. To hurt or disrespect my body would be to hurt and disrespect more than just myself, right?
