I got new bikes for her and her sister for xmas from santa and she founf them while snooping in my closet, first thing she did was tell her sis and now I dont know what to do. I dont know what santa can bring them now. They are almost to old to not believe in him and I'm trying to keep that from happening. I'm so mad I want to take them back but then again I really want them to have them to. what would you do?

If you have cheaper gifts from you that they don't know about switch them. Hey you get clothes this year from Santa because you snooped. get the bubble gum coal and put that in there stocking to.

I agree with tony the one who ruined for her sister should have a consequence

I would say that it depends on two things: how old they actually are, and how mature the both of them are. If you curtail the existence of Santa, you will probably also be called on to explain the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, and any other imaginary bringers of happiness that we kept through childhood.

If they are prepared enough to be able to handle such knowledge, then by all means, lay it on them. I don't have children at the moment, but I probably won't tell them about Santa Claus or the other mythical giftbringers; I will tell them outright about the meaing of Christmas, and why we get gifts for people and receive them in turn. That's just me, though.

Be sure to administer some sort of punishment to the one who ratted you out, though; maybe disallow her from using the bike for a period after the weather is good enough to ride in. Whether Santa exists or not, it's not cool to ruin the surprise of what exactly the gift is.

Hi Mom of 3,
You have to balance your desire for your daughter to be a naturally inquisitive person with your desire for an ultimate surprise. Would you rather squelch that desire to know the unknown or would you rather have your surprise spoiled? You know, as a Mom, that your daughter's inquisitiveness is probably what will take her the furthest in an educational venue: why should it be very different in this case?
The trick is that you're the adult and can have a greater understanding of the larger issues at stake here. Your daughter cannot but she can learn a lot about the world from your attitude towards this.
I would advise you to keep the bikes. Tell your kids that Santa had dropped them off the week earlier or something and keep on moving. You're a good Mom, don't worry about the surprise - kids are in it for the schwag.

Take them back and put a lump of coal in each stocking. Tell them that's what happens to snoopy kids.

Or, give them the bikes and tell them Santa sometimes prelocates large items along his route.

Or, tell them the truth. I learned the truth in first grade. Your kids are old enough.

What ever you decide, I'm sure it will be OK.

Best wishes and Merry Christmas.

wait and give them to the kids for their birthdays. its winter anyway they cant get any use out of them unless u live in a place it doesnt snow right. then just get them something else from santa. something else thats kind of a bigger gift. something they have their eye on besides a bike. have them write a letter to santa and ask him what they want.

about all i can come up with is telling them that santa got a head start this year and dropped off the larger gifts in order to make room in his sleigh!
i would most certainly be giving them a lecture on snooping. and telling them that just because they ruined the surprise for themselves they shouldn't have told the sisters and ruined it for them.
in the meantime its time for mummy to come up with better hiding spots! good luck and merry christmas!

Keep the bikes and tell them Santa dropped them off early because it would weight the sled down... that's my parents told me years ago, it worked!
