Trying to find an answer to this question is impossible for me, because what makes me happy is what I do each moment. Everything I do is done to ensure that I am happy at that moment, or will be happy in future moments--in which case the sacrifice must be of lesser degree than the future possible happiness.

The things in my life that I do for recreation or personal enjoyment are the understanding of concepts and reality, sports, a variety of electronic entertainment, and other things of similar recreational nature. But does the action of doing these things equate with happiness?

I've come to the conclusion that happiness is somewhat of an illusion. That doesn't mean that you can't enjoy life. It's just that we forsee an ultimate happiness in our future, yet we never reach it. It always seems to be ahead of us, and we strive for it, but we always end not quite there. We have this notion in our mind that there are goals that we want to reach. Even if we reach them, we feel empty--as if we never accomplished anything to begin with.

This is the mindset that leaves us and our lives feeling insignificant. We think of life as a destination; that there is some glorious reward at the end.

But there isn't.

So, I just live. Live in the moment. Live for today. Happiness, after all, is not a destination, but a means of traveling.
