The old man and the sea
by Ernest hemingway

no more than 122 pages.
and the plot is simple, and easy.
fast to read, wont take more then a few days if you only read a few pages a day.

Instead of worrying about having too many pages, get a book about some subject that you really like and read it. If you enjoy what you are reading about, it won't be awful and you will write a better report. Look at the Harry Potter books, with some of them 700 pages or more but even people who don't like to read get interested and go right through them. (The first one really isn't very long, if you haven't read it.

If you like flying and space, read a book about the space program, for example, or a good science fiction book. Isaac Asimov and Robert Heinlein wrote what are called Juvenile novels that are short but really fun to read. I suggest "Farmer in the Sky" or "Have Spacesuit, Will Travel" or any like that.

Ask a librarian for some help. Be honest about not liking reading and really needing to do your assignment. Most of them understand and will be glad to help and few bite.

First think about what you really enjoy, and then ask for a book that relates to that. Just don't be surprised if you actually like reading it.

For hilarious and enjoyable reading, I recommend David Sedaris's "Me Talk Pretty One Day." For a short classic: Henry James's "Daisy Miller" (113 pages). For another short one (180 pages), there's Philip Roth's "The Ghost Writer." Me Talk Pretty One Day is a collection of essays by Sedaris about his life mostly when he's an adult. Daisy Miller is about a girl (Daisy Miller) of new money who travels abroad and dies in Italy. There is a lot of mystery and symbolism, so it's a GREAT book report choice for critiquing. The Ghost Writer is about a Jewish up and coming writer who gets mentorship from his favorite writer. If you enjoy writing, if you're from a minority group, or if you just like good writing, this book is an excellent choice. Good luck!

You obviously don't wish to complete this assignment but it would be pretty cool if someone else did it for you, huh?
One short book (80 pages) I can think of is "Be a Perfect Person in Just Three Days" by Stephen Manes.

William Strunk, Jr. (1869–1946). The Elements of Style. 1918.

This book, fondly called 'The Little Book', is monumental in its influence.

I Am Legend. It's a super easy read and even easier to write on. Plus, if it's not due too too soon, you can watch the movie, although I'm thinking it is going to be very different from the book.

You should read War and Peace.
Hahahahahahaha.
Sorry.
Actually if you are such a slacker just read There's a wocket in my pocket. lol
Or green eggs and ham.

I thought that the foreshadowing and imagary used in this book was astonishing.

hahahahahahahahahahaahahahah........aaaaahhhhahahaha.

Once more, I apologize. But stop slacking and don't just go for the minimal requirements. Your teacher may not give you full credit.

The Pearl. Very simple, but very profound. It's also unique... your teacher will love that you chose something more "out of the box", but it's still a classic. It's about a hispanic man who thinks that having this pearl is the key to his happiness.. but soon learns that money and values are not everything. It's by a classic author, Steinbeck maybe? Look it up, I think you'll enjoy it.
