it starts in km/hr and you want m/s

1km = 1000m so multiply by 1000 to lose the km units
then 1hr = 3600s so divide by 3600 to lose the hr units

km/hr * m/km = m/hr (km cancels)
m/hr * hr/s = m/s (hr cancels)

49.167m/s

1000 meters=1km
177000 meters= 177 km

There are 60 minutes in an hour and 60 seconds in a minute
therefore there are 3600 seconds 177000/ 3600= 49.166..7 meters per second

(177 km/hr)(1000 m/1 km)(1 hr/60 min)(1 min/ 60 sec) = 49.17 m/s.
