You don't need to give beardie's this sort of food- crickets/worms- that sort of thing are as carnivorous as they should get. Get a snake if you want to feed mice to something. I know I'll get a thumb's down....' meal worms cause MBD'.....'How irresponsible it is to advise someone to go and buy another pet on a whim...'
That's not what I want.

I wouldn't advise it.

Firstly, why would you want to feed it a living thing? It is not necessary... It is cruel.

Secondly, pinkies are not very nutritious. They are full of fat and very little of anything else.

Thirdly, you beardie might refuse to go back to other food items therefore you will hvae to keep feeding him an unhealthy diet - he will become fat and lazy and die early.

Fourthly - they are not a natural part of a beardie dragons diet. They would rarely come across a mouse and they certainly wouldn't chase it. Snakes are fed mice because they naturally eat them.

Fithly (is that a word) - Imagine a pinky to be like a water balloon. The beardie gets it in its mouth and squeezes... what is going to happen? There is going to be smelly guts everywhere... yuk.

OMG.CANT BELIEVE THAT LAST ANSWER(stephen eblueyes).WHAT THE F**K IS THE POINT FORCE FEEDING A ANIMAL SOMETHING THAT IT SHOULDN'T BE FED (especially if its not got a problem with feeding in the first place).Force feeding is something that should be done as a very last desperate measure and not be done just in general feeding. It is extremely stressful for the animal. The odd defrost pinkie is OK but the majority of the diet should be crickets & locusts with 2-3 portions of the following.this chart is very extensive but tells you what you should and shouldn't feed your beardie.

Definately not a good idea. Pinkies are very hard to digest for beardies and often result in impactions. The only exception of feeding a pinkie to a beardie is for gravid females that need to pack on weight; but even then its not a very good idea.

Stick with insect feeders.

Good luck!

Do not feed live--buy frozen and thaw properly. Live can carry more parasites. Also, beardies do not need to eat pinkies--they are higher in fat and can be more difficult to digest. Stick to a variety of insects instead, such as crickets, superworms, silkworms, phoenix worms and hornworms.

Bearded dragons need a mixture of insects and plant matter such as grated carrot and lettuce. Stick with them. :)
