You didn't say the liquid had to be water, put it in mercury, it will float. If you have to use water, try carefully laying a piece of THIN aluminum foil on the surface of standing water, the surface tension might keep it afloat. (No gaurantees though).

make a boat or something.As long as it can displace water,it will float.
