No, Russia, China, Europeans tried. America sent commadore matthew perry(friends) to force open trade with America. Japan was threaten by the west and modernized itself with the help of the British. Japan history has been more about domination from western powers but not colonization that existed in the Americas and Africa or Australia. During WW2 Japan seeked to be a colonial power in the pacific, literally driving all European influence out.

No. Never colonized by any country, but occupied by GHQ of allies (mainly by US soldiers) for 7 years after WW2.
Mongolians (Yuan dynasty in China continent) tried to invade Japan 2wice in the 13th century, and they reached the land in the South-west part of Japan. However, they had to withdraw their battle ships.

yes, they were not colonized by taken over by the Korean Empire long before Japan even had guns! However, those Koreans were people that lost the war during the division. they decided to move to japan

Chinese tried to conquer but were failures. But that was again an old story.
But Japan could occupy Korean and Chinese territories.

The original Japanese natives were the Inu, I believe, which were caucasion. The present Japanese population are descendents of oriental colonists.
