My computer recently broke and its not easy going without a computer. So should I get the computer now, or will the computer prices be lower after christmas? So should I wait? I'm thinking of getting a computer with at least an AMD athlon x2 6000+. Or will they release even better computers in '08?

If planning on staying with AMD then buy now(don't forget AMD just released their newest processor as well...the Phenom quad core processor), if planning on switching to Intel wait till they release their new line of processors which should be sometime in January. Intel's new Extreme processors will run circles around ANY AMD BTW and use less power and generate less heat according to all the reviews I have read. Guess I am a little bias to Intel. I would get the Q9450 quad core myself but if you could afford more then get a better processor if not get the cheaper quad core(can't remember what it will be, maybe the Q9350?). Also, they are releasing new dual cores as well. I am not sure how long it will be before you start seeing new computers already built with these processors in them though.

Just wondering, if your computer isn't to old why not try to fix it by buying the parts you need? Not hard to fix and depending on what may have went out on it not real expensive compared to a new computer.
Just a heads up as well, MAC has been having some issues with the BSOD(blue screen of death) with their latest operating system. Which I think is funny how they use to have the commercial stating the MAC O/S does not have any CRASHES, lol.

I suggest you wait till boxing day sales, why not save money on a computer you'll end up buying anyways. Nothing is expected to be released in 08' so I suggest you buy a really good computer that is on sale so that you wont get outdated quickly. The processor you have chosen is pretty good a x2 3.0Ghz which is pretty recent and will run at speeds that will surely fulfill your needs, but basically you should look for 2gb of ram and a decent graphics accelerator to actually experience your processor at 100%. Good luck on your computer hunting! =D

If your computer recently broke then the computer you are using right now belongs to someone else or you have more than one computer. This is besides the point. Try a new MAC and don’t be bothered with most of the viruses out there, because most are targeting the PC.
If you want speed ; The MacPro 8-core or quad-core will do it for you. it’s a Mac Pro workstation @ 3GHZ Xeon-based Intel…
