As in words like Snail:D
Haha sorry it's been bothering me for a while. It's a little tricky because it's like "A-yul", though the word itself has one vowel sound.
What do u reckon.

One syllable.
Even tho the words SOUNDS like a-yul, it "officially" has one syllable. That double sound is called a dipthong and doesn't mean the word has two syllables.

I think it depends upon if you are a Yankee or a Southerner. I'm from the South, so I say "a-yul" and "sna-yul" but Yankees say it w/ kind of an E sound "ell" and "snell" which gives it only 1 syllable.
