My husband of 10 years used to work with my cousin's husband. A few days ago she called me and told me that there were rumors circulating around the workplace that my husband was having an affair with one of his former coworkers while he still worked there. She said that her husband heard people saying that they went out to long lunches together and that he picked her up after work once. He was never secretive about having lunch with her and he often had lunch at home. Lunch between friends isn't really a reason to be suspicious, but now I'm wondering if he was "hiding out in the open." This women does have a reputation for promiscuity according to both of our husbands (mentioned independantly from this instance) and niether one of the accused were present during this rumorfest. My husband says they were just friends and that he has hardly spoken to her since he quit. No one said they witnessed any physical intamacy, but they did suspect more than friendship. Gossip or truth?
