February 21, 2008 will make 2 years since I quit. I quit because my youngest started school and one day I suddenly realized that if I died there would be no one that could take care of my son the way he needs to be cared for. The only person that I would have trusted him with is my own father who passed away 6 years ago. I made up my mind that I would do the best that I could to live long and healthy and raise my son. I went to the doctor for help because I knew I couldn't do it on my own, so I took Wellbutrin and Xanax for one month and haven't smoked since. Never even had the urge and I had smoked since I was 15 and was up to about a pack and a half a day and quit at the age of 38.

smoker - but tend to do it more when drinking or at work when really stressed.
I stopped smoking for a few years, then started again. STUPID!!!
I HATE being a smoker. I'm embarrassed of it b/c it is just plain unhealthy, makes you stink, and have yellow teeth. It's just disgusting!!!! I am weak for not being able to put the nasty things down.
I am going to quit for good. A lot of people are having an easier time with this taking Chantix. I hope I can quit w/o it, but if I can't, I'm going to try it.

No.
Not as such.
Yes? How is that answerable?
The most I've ever smoked is about 4 cigarettes a week (for about a month, freshman year of college), the least, two a year. These days if I do it, it just keeps me up at night with my sinuses congested and a nasty taste in my mouth. I still choose to sometimes because I enjoy the effect of the drug. Rarely, I do it for the sensory experience. Often this decision is made while drunk.
(Do note that I'm 26, though.)

JUst never smoked, so must preaching in school about how smoking in bad for and what it does to your lungs, and graphic pictures of people sick with emphymzemia, cancer and what smoking had done to them.
Enough to scare you.
Another thing that will put you off smoking, left dirty ash trays and cigarrete butts, nicotine teeth, gums and fingers, bad breath. It also yellows your walls as well.
And totaling it all up how much do you spend and smokes a year? Apack a day, ? At least a 1000?
,cough cough.,

Never smoked .. never will. I do have Asthma -- which is why I won't ever smoke at all .. and I also do have problems with my Asthma being irritated when Smokers light up around me. (when you have difficulty breathing .. if you ever had to experience a true Asthma Attack .. then you would know why I DO NOT WANT to ever smoke anything).

Smoked 20 years. Quit cold turkey 10 years ago. Will never start again.
Only real regret I have in my life - starting smoking that is.

I quit 4 years ago after smoking for about 5 years. I quit for a few reasons:
To feel healthier
To save money
So I would feel free of addiction
To challenge myself to do something difficult but worthwhile
So my girlfriend would be inspired to quit as well

Yes, I've never smoked and unless I suffer a mental break down and am no longer in control of my actions, I never will.
I don't judge people who do (a lot anyway), but I think it's extremely disgusting, it makes you look bad and stink. Not to mention it's soooo unhealthy and you're almost guarenteed to die of some smoking-related disease. Honestly, I fail to see any redeeming benefits to smoking, other than to look cool. Except you don't look cool smoking soooo it's really rather pointless.

I use to smoke, 4 years ago. Started when I was young and one day saw an attractive lady smoking and said yuck how unattractive, that looks so ugly. It was like looking in a mirror. I stopped that day and never went back.
