My sister is divorcing her husband, and she thinks that he may have mulitple houses/land in her name that she doesn't know about.

She can search the county recorder's records (grantor/grantee index) in the county in which she thinks the property may be located. She can do a search under her name and (hopefully it's not a common name) be able to find out.

Go to your local County Department of Property Records and Revenue. They should have a database of all properties. If all else fails you can check with your local Courthouse and they can help you as well.

She should go to the people in charge of your place. City Hall, Town Hall, Village Hall, whatever you guys have there that keeps records like that. Have her go in and tell them the situation, they'll tell her what she needs to know.

land ownership records in many US areas are searchable online for owner's name.

property tax assessor's records may or may not be searchable in the same way.

The only way this could happen is through fraud. She needs to provide her suspicions to her attorney.

If she has a good lawyer the lawyer should be able to find this information.

if she had an ideal where they are........she can go to The Register of Deeds at the courthouse in that county & find out, if not.......i'm not sure
