My friend and I are doing an interpretive dance for a project for school on the book of Ecclesiastes (don't ask). Does anyone have any suggestions for a good instrumental song with no words, just music? I don't even know where to start looking for a song. Any suggestions are helpful. It just has to be a song with a nice tune. Thanks.

Try looking for your favorite songs at a local music store. Most music stores will carry a karaoke version on CD or tape that is just music, no words.
I'd suggest the song "Sarah Jane".
Also, Celine Dion has really lyrical music that, when stripped of the words, can provide good music for interpretive dance.

Good luck!

The art of interpretive dance needs to be a pure expression of oneself. Raw, naked power of the individual as they move in sync with a song that screams more than just human feelings of pain, or love or truth or life to the audience in the room. The crowd must be seduced and captivated by the beauty that emulates from the pageantry of the performance - where, for just a moment, they are sucked into your world as the dancer, and every thought and feeling of theirs is a mirror to what they are seeing unfolded in front of them and being echoed around them in sound. Right from the start of your dance, they should realise they are witnessing something special, and once done, there should be no response from the audience because they don't quite know or understand what they have seen, simply that it was beautiful, life changing and surely not from this earth: for nothing could possibly be so sublime. Finally, as the curtain falls you, the dancer, nothing is left but a hollow shell, having poured so much of yourself and your essence into the performance and out into the crowd that it takes all of the tiny fragment you have left to regroup, rise and bow to the hushed room. But as you walk off stage and back into your everyday life, you should know that what you have done this night with the music for the people out there will never be forgotten. Not by you. Not by them. With this all in mind, I recommend the song "Ho you do dat nasty on me" by Strap-On Cash.

Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly is mostly instrumental. I would love to see an interpretative dance set to IGDV.

You might check out an artist named Rick Wakeman. Most of his songs are completely instrumental. Also (yuk) Yanni.
