Not in any way, It doesn't even break your hymen (this is a membrane across the opening of your vagina which has to be broken in order to be penetrated during sex), which is the technical way of assessing virginity. Your hymen deteriorates slightly in order for you to have your period, and you are able to insert a tampon because of this. If you were breaking your hymen, you would feel a huge amount of pain as you were pushing in the tampon. So don't worry. You will know if it is safe or not.

It used to be frowned upon for girls to ride horses as this tended to break the hymen. This is why the side saddle was used, as well as general prudery. But just becasue the hymen is the only physical proof that you are a virgin, does not mean that you are not a virgin if it is broken by other things. The only way to lose your virgintiy is to have sex.

No, but the can sort if break-their-selves-in. There is a small piece of inner skin called the Hymen which is normally found in virgins, but you can break this (which is normal) even if you play with yourself.

So don't be affraid. You're a virgin until you sleep with someone. You not enjoyed sex untill you made love and came with your partner at the same time. That's when the earth moves under your feet.

Good luck and be safe.

No. A tampon is not big enough to penetrate a hymen. You would only lose your virginity through sexual intercourse with a male.

lol, fair question. but no. i understand where your coming from when you say this and it makes sense. the tampon doesn't break the hymen layer up there it pokes it a bit but doesn't penatrate like when you have sex.

It's possible to get an orgasm by using a tampon.

Otherwise, it depends on your definition of virginity. If your definition of virginity is "someone that has not been penetrated by anything" then yes, you do. If your definition of virginity is "someone that hasn't had sex yet" then no you don't.

No, virginity refers to sex. While a tampon may tear the hymen, it doesn't 'count' as sex even if the physical effect is similar.
