Big cities accomodate loners better but they become more lonely.
As the proverb says a big city a big solitude.
Big cities tend to marginalise people and render them completly anonimous unless they don't make an effort to make friends but even for extrovert people it can be tough making friends in metropolis.

well, a true loner would want to live out in the rural areas to be totally isolated, but a loner could live in the city yes. I'm not sure if they prefer it though

Nah, big cities are fun. There is alot to do. Small towns are boooring. All you can do is get married have kids and be like every other dumb schmo.
I moved to a big city and I had no problem making tons of friends. I love big cities and I will always want to live in one. I would never want to F off to the suburbs---ugh. The the thought of a small town gives me the shivers.

No its not true I know a couple of loners and they live in rural area and far from their neighbor Loners love silence and quietness

I prefer big cities because they have mass transit, and small towns don't--in the US. I'd probably be reasonably comfortable living in a small English village, as long as it was on a train route. :)
