What's the best way to take down multiple opponents in the Elder Scrolls: Oblivion?

I have level 7 imperial girl, who mainly uses swords and heavy armor, but also has restoration and alteration for magic. Fighting one enemy is simple, but when I get attacked by 2 or more, i just die. Is there a strategy i can use to beat them, or should i just lower the difficulty (its currently set at the default)

Join the Mage's Guild so that you gain the ability to create spells(or just create one with cheats if you so choose) and create a spell that has a wide damage radius. This way you can hit multiple opponents at once.

Alternatively you can run backwards whilst either shooting your opponents with a bow and arrow, firing spells, or slashing with a claymore. A claymore is the only melee weapon that's really practical for this due to its size. This is pretty cheap but it's a very useful tactic to take out enemies you're having trouble with, and it would work for multiple opponents nicely.

If all else fails, just lower the difficulty. If you put it on a low enough setting, everything becomes extraordinarily easy, so just set it to what's right for you.

If you find yourself in a pickle with more than one enemy attacking you, there is one main objective you should focus on: DO NOT GET BACKED UP INTO A CORNER!!! if you do, your enemies will attack you mecilessly, and YOU WILL DIE. if more than one enemy is attacking you, try to combine several different strategies. move around a lot; make it hard for them to get a good swing at you. also, make use of ranged attacks such as Magicka or arrows. use restoration to heal yourself continuously, and then go in for a decisive blow.

Practice Blocking and only attacking when your at full fatigue (The green bar)

Set healing potions to a shortcut key so you can quickly drink them if your health is in danger, use your restoration spells as well
