Taylen... but why would you do that to a child?

True, Taylor was in the Top 10 for much of the 1990s. But it has a simple, classic appeal that Taylin lacks.

My general sense is that if a name generates this many spellings, it's not a great choice.

Why not go with another one of the many gender neutral surname-names in vogue these days? Many are not nearly as popular as Taylor, but all have more cachet than Taylin, in any spelling.

A few to consider:

Hadley
Darcy
Avery
Ellery
Piper
Peyton
Kinsey
Presley
Harper
Kendall
Sheridan
Waverly

I like the name Taylin. I prefer spelling it Taylyn or Taelyn. They are very feminine looking, whereas the others look like last names. The will also make very pretty signatures. Have you considered a middle name? Taylyn Jasmyne comes to mind for some reason. Taelyn Nicole would be nice. Or what about Taelyn Grace?

I would definitely go with the simplest spelling - Taylin or Taylen. It sounds like a really sweet name, but that could easily be ruined by an overly complicated spelling lol, like all the close-together y's in Taylyn.

A similar name that came to mind is Tatum, which I think is actually really cute for a girl, especially with the nickname Tate.

And though I know Taylor is super popular at the moment, I secretly like it and I love the crisp, kind of preppy sound of it lol. If you really want to use it, I'd probably put it as a middle name.

Good luck!!

I really like the name Taylor too. I don't think that it's overused. I don't know anyone by that name. I have never even heard of the name used.

Taylin in a beautiful name. It is definately more feminine than Taylor.

Taelyn

It seems the most feminine and unique at the same time. I don't like the double y in Taylyn, and I don't like the -en ending to Taylen because it looks more masculine that way. Taylan looks like it'll be mispronouced as Tay-lan not Tay-lin.

Taylin or Taelin isn't bad either, but the -in ending seems kinda plain. I really love the Tae because like Mae and Rae, it looks more exotic that way LOL. Plus combined with the -lyn ending it looks really good.

Taelyn is the way to go! :)

Why would you say "it's a girls name duh".
I mean, it sounds made up.
Why not just go with the real name Taylor? I don't even think it's that popular anymore.

I like that name. I like Taelyn because the rest could be mistaken and pronouced wrong.
