If you feel ready, you can start anytime, but make sure you know how to use them properly, including how long you can keep them in.
Just ask your mom directly if you can. If she uses them, I wouldn't think it would be a problem at all.

You should wait until it's soggy, heavy and almost ready to leak (if that takes more than 6 or 8 hours, you're using too absorbent a tampon for your flow) - that way, it'll be as soft and slippery as it can get and it'll come out without the slightest discomfort. Dry tampons *hurt* to remove, and changing them before you need to is a total waste of time *and* money.

Wait a few months because ur body is just starting to change and get used to it. I started using tampons from the start. If u feel ready ask now.

I had the same problem but it actually wasn't that hard. I think you should ask her when you are on your 2nd or 3rd period. You dont really need to use tampons right away unless you are going swimming or playing sports.

You can start anytime, but you should wait at least 6 months if not longer, to get the hang of things. Tampons are good if used correctly. Many young girls find it hard to use at first, and some even forget to change them often. I wold talk to your mom and your doc to discuss you personally.
Congrats and welcome to women hood!

You don't have to wait if you don't want to. Just say, "Mom, can I use tampons instead of pads?' It'll go from there.

You shouldnt have to ask to use them. They are great. If you can use them right away go for it. It took me awhile to figure out how to use them. Just tell your mom you want to use them because its cleaner. No fuss no mess.
